September 24th, 2019:
Since we first introduced GarageSale in 2004 eBay has changed a lot, which has implication on our business as well.
In the past years, the number of small, casual sellers using GarageSale has declined. This group was GarageSale's target audience when first launched 15 years ago. At the same time the share of professional and semi-professional sellers among our users has went up.
As a result, we have now less, but more ambitious GarageSale users. To keep publishing GarageSale a viable business, we are introducing a dual license model with the upcoming GarageSale 8 (due very shortly):
If you are listing less than 50 items on eBay per month and don't need the 'Synching' feature, the upgrade process won't change compared to previous paid upgrades.
You can purchase or upgrade to GarageSale 8 for a one time fee of $39.99 (new license) or $19.99 (upgrade fee). The upgrade will be free of charge if you purchased GarageSale 7 after April 1st, 2018.
However, if you are listing more than 50 items per month, you'll need a GarageSale Pro subscription for $14.99/month (can be canceled any time) or $149.99/year, which includes these benefits:
- Free major upgrades
- Unlimited listing starts
- Database Synching between Macs
- Use GarageSale's image service for GTC listings with support for up to 50 larger images per listing
We don't take this step easily. We discussed different licensing models, and decided that our chosen model is the most likely to keep small sellers onboard, while not placing too much financial burden on larger sellers.
We are looking forward to the release of GarageSale 8. We’re sure you’ll love the new features and improvements.
